On April 20, 2026, a new silver collector coin with a face value of 10 euros will be issued in Spain, dedicated to the 5th Centenary of the Council of State, one of the oldest and most important institutions in the Spanish legal system.
Issued by the Spanish Royal Mint (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre–Real Casa de la Moneda), this coin is not intended for circulation but for collectors. It is a silver coin (925/1000 fineness), weighing 27 grams, with a diameter of 40 mm and a proof finish, guaranteeing a high level of detail and quality. Furthermore, its mintage is limited to a maximum of 4,000 units.

The coin corresponds to the historical denomination of 8 reales, equivalent to a face value of 10 euros. It is minted in silver with a copper alloy, has a reeded edge, and is proof quality, characteristics typical of high-end issues.

Obverse of the coin
The obverse features a left-facing portrait of His Majesty King Felipe VI, following the usual style of contemporary Spanish coinage. The legend “FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA” appears in a circular pattern at the top, while the year of minting, 2026, is shown at the bottom.
The set is surrounded by a border of pearls that adds elegance and reinforces the classic character of the piece.
Reverse of the coin
The reverse side is the most distinctive element of this issue. It features the coat of arms of the Council of State in color, a design that stands out visually against the silver background and adds great aesthetic richness.
The inscription “V CENTENARIO” appears at the top, while the face value “10 EURO” is displayed to the right. The legend “CONSEJO DE ESTADO” is arranged in two lines, completing a balanced and symbolic composition. The mint mark is located at the bottom.
