Turnul bisericii reformate din Cehu Silvaniei s-a prăbușit marți seara. Turnul a fost distrus în totalitate, bucăți mari de zidărie și materiale de construcție căzând în piața principală, pe șosea și pe trotuar. Mai multe mașini parcate au fost grav avariate, iar zona a fost imediat izolată.
Conform rapoartelor poliției, o polițistă care trecea pe acolo în momentul prăbușirii a fost rănită. Ea nu făcea parte din echipa de intervenție. A fost transportată la spital, starea ei este stabilă. Pompierii din Cehu Silvaniei și Zalău au sosit la fața locului cu un camion de salvare multifuncțional și o unitate de câini de căutare antrenați în căutarea sub dărâmături. Din fericire nimeni nu a fost prins sub dărâmături.
Biserica gotică, reformată este una dintre cele mai importante clădiri din Cehu Silvaniei. Data exactă a construcției sale nu este cunoscută, dar anul 1519 vizibil pe bolta sanctuarului indică o extindere semnificativă în anul respectiv. Construită inițial ca biserică romano-catolică, probabil cu sprijinul lui János Drágffy, turnul său vestic a fost ridicat în 1614. Cripta este locul de odihnă al lui Dániel Fábián, membru al Adunării Naționale în timpul Războiului de Independență din 1848-1849.
În biserică și în jurul acesteia se efectuau lucrări de renovare. Încă nu se știe dacă aceste lucrări au contribuit la dezastru. Cert este că mai mulți localnici au zis, că pe turn au apărut crăpături deja de câțiva ani.
Și personal pun întrebarea: oare nu intervenția întârziată a condus la distrugerea monumentului de peste 500 de ani? Și stau să mă gândesc de exemplu la cea mai veche biserică ortodoxă de pe teritoriul Transilvaniei care riscă aceeași soartă, practic fiind abandonată? Sau mă gândesc la turnul bisericii franciscane din centrul Târgu Mureșului, aflată într-o stare deplorabilă. Sau la alte și alte monumente, care riscă să dispară în aceeași condiții...

A szilágycsehi református templom tornya kedd este összeomlott. A torony teljesen megsemmisült, nagy darabok hullottak a főtérre, az útra és a járdára. Több parkoló autó súlyosan megrongálódott, a területet azonnal lezárták.
A rendőrség jelentése szerint egy rendőrnő, aki a torony összeomlásakor éppen arra járt, megsérült. A nő nem tartozott a mentőcsapat tagjai közé. Kórházba szállították, állapota stabil. A szilágycsehi és zilahi tűzoltók többcélú mentőautóval és romok alatt keresésre kiképzett kutatókutyákkal érkeztek a helyszínre. Szerencsére senki sem rekedt a romok alatt.
A gótikus református templom Szilágycseh egyik legfontosabb épülete. Pontos építési ideje nem ismert, de a szentély boltozatán látható 1519-es évszám arra utal, hogy abban az évben jelentős bővítés történt. Eredetileg római katolikus templomként épült, valószínűleg Drágffy János támogatásával, nyugati tornya 1614-ben emelkedett. A kriptában nyugszik Fábián Dániel, az 1848–1849-es függetlenségi háború idején a Nemzetgyűlés tagja.
A templomban és környékén felújítási munkálatokat végeztek. Egyelőre nem tudni, hogy ezek a munkálatok hozzájárultak-e a katasztrófához. Az biztos, hogy több helyi lakos is arról számolt be, hogy a tornyon már évek óta repedések jelentek meg.
És felteszem a kérdést: vajon a késedelmes beavatkozás vezetett-e a több mint 500 éves műemlék megsemmisüléséhez? És gondolok például Erdély legrégebbi ortodox templomára, amely gyakorlatilag elhagyatott állapotban van, és ugyanaz a sors fenyegeti. Vagy gondolok a Marosvásárhely központjában álló ferences templom tornyára, amely siralmas állapotban van. Vagy más műemlékekre, amelyek ugyanilyen körülmények között veszélyben vannak...

The tower of the Reformed Church in Cehu Silvaniei collapsed on Tuesday evening. The tower was completely destroyed, large pieces of masonry and building materials falling onto the main square, the road, and the sidewalk. Several parked cars were severely damaged, and the area was immediately cordoned off.
According to police reports, a policewoman who was passing by at the time of the collapse was injured. She was not part of the emergency response team. She was taken to hospital and her condition is stable. Firefighters from Cehu Silvaniei and Zalău arrived at the scene with a multifunctional rescue truck and a unit of search dogs trained to search under rubble. Fortunately, no one was trapped under the rubble.
The Gothic Reformed church is one of the most important buildings in Cehu Silvaniei. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but the year 1519 visible on the sanctuary vault indicates a significant expansion in that year. Originally built as a Roman Catholic church, probably with the support of János Drágffy, its western tower was erected in 1614. The crypt is the resting place of Dániel Fábián, a member of the National Assembly during the War of Independence of 1848-1849.
Renovation work was being carried out in and around the church. It is not yet known whether this work contributed to the disaster. What is certain is that several locals said that cracks had been appearing on the tower for several years.
And I personally ask the question: did the delayed intervention lead to the destruction of the 500-year-old monument? And I think, for example, of the oldest Orthodox church in Transylvania, which risks the same fate, having been practically abandoned. Or I think of the tower of the Franciscan church in the center of Târgu Mureș, which is in a deplorable state. Or of other monuments that risk disappearing under the same conditions...
