On August 25, the Bank of Russia issued a commemorative 3-ruble silver coin to commemorate the 10th Eastern Economic Forum, a meeting being held in Vladivostok.
The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) is an event that brings together authorities, business leaders, and other organizations to discuss economic development issues in the Far East and the Asia-Pacific region. Although it has served to sign agreements in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and transportation, its real impact on the international economy is limited and focuses primarily on regional projects within Russia.
Since its inception in 2015, the forum has been held annually in Vladivostok. Between 2015 and 2024, 2,480 agreements were announced, mainly related to economic and social activities in the east of the country.
The 2025 edition took place from September 3 to 6 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, on Russky Island (Ajax Bay, Vladivostok). This year's theme was "The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity." Russky Island is connected to the mainland by a modern bridge.
The reverse of the coin features a central image of a cable-stayed bridge, overflown by a bird, and below it is an emblem with the inscription "Восточный экономический форум" (Eastern Economic Forum) and the Roman numeral "X". The entire composition is depicted against a background of a sky and waves treated with laser for a matte finish.
On the obverse of the coin, the national coat of arms of the Russian Federation is prominently displayed in a central position. At the top, following the edge, the inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (Russian Federation) is inscribed in a semicircle, accompanied on both sides by small diamond-shaped motifs. Next to the coat of arms, on the left, the chemical symbol for silver is indicated along with its purity; on the opposite side, the fine metal content and the mint mark are specified. At the bottom, distributed in three lines, are the inscriptions "БАНК РОССИИ" (Bank of Russia), the face value "3 RUBLYA" (3 rubles), and the year of issue "2025".
