One of the countries that has tried to make it more difficult to obtain this year's common commemorative 2-euro coin dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Erasmus Program has been the Netherlands, which despite having a print run of 570,000 pieces, first place 77,500 units destined for collectors, in BU and Proof qualities, and the rest, presumably, should appear after the summer in circulation.

Many collectors chose from the beginning to secure the coin, opting mainly for the acquisition of the coin on a coincard. For a few weeks I have been aware that the coins intended for circulation are beginning to appear mixed with coins already in circulation, in the rolls of 25 pieces distributed by the Banks of the Netherlands.

Today we are going to see a video of a Dutch youtuber and collector who shows us that, indeed, the 2 euro Erasmus commemorative coins are beginning to be distributed, and although they are not yet appearing in large quantities, the fact that they are more than 450,000 that must be put into circulation suggests that at some point they will appear en masse.

What the collector that I mentioned to you teaches us is what they call a "coin hunt", basically it is about opening rolls of coins taken from the bank before the camera, and among these looking for the most interesting ones, in the case of coins of 2 euros, especially the commemorative ones are sought.

In the video that I leave you below, uploaded to YouTube yesterday September 9, we see how before our eyes two rolls of 25 coins of 2 euros already circulated are opened and among them will appear, among others, two Erasmus coins from the Netherlands in a quality that we could perfectly qualify as uncirculated or UNC.

In the comments of the video other people affirm that they have also found coins of this type in the rolls. All this is ratified by the fact that these coins are beginning to appear on Wallapop-type trading pages in the Netherlands.

Remind you that Belgium is a case very similar to this, it first issued the versions for sale for collectors and we are waiting for those intended for circulation to begin to appear, in this case they will be even more, since the print run is one million of pieces.

Finally, we are left with Malta, which has made it worse impossible. Low print run, 82,500, and breaching the European commitment to issue all the coin in unison on the same day, July 1, 2022. They are a real disaster and they mistreat collectors, I hope that the European Commission ends one day with their abuses and the from other microstates.
