Next Thursday, September 9, the second 2 euro commemorative coin of Lithuania in 2021 will be officially issued. It is the third coin in the series "Lithuanian Ethnographic Regions", in which the protagonist will be the "Dzūkija Region" . The series has been broadcast since 2019 and will continue until 2023, at which time the five pieces that comprise it will be completed, the same regions that Lithuania has.

In the center of the national side of the coin there is a shield with an armed soldier holding a halberd in his right hand and leaning with his left arm on a silver Baltic shield. The shield placed on a beam is supported by two lynxes. Below it hangs a ribbon with the Latin inscription EX GENTE BELICOSISSIMA POPULUS LABORIOSUS (Of most tribes at war: working people). The composition is surrounded by the inscriptions LIETUVA (LITHUANIA) and DZŪKIJA, the year of issue (2021) and the mint mark of the Lithuanian Mint. The author of the coin is the artist Rolandas Rimkūnas.

The edge of the coin, like all those issued by Lithuania in this value, has the legends: LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ * (FREEDOM * UNITY * WELFARE *).

The issue volume is 500,000 coins, of which 5,000 in BU quality are issued in coincard at the price of € 9, in Lithuania.
