Within the series "National Rites and Games of Kazakhstan", the Bank of Kazakhstan issued a few weeks ago a coin dedicated to "Sundet toi", an ancient Kazakh tradition that has become a national tradition. Before the 'initiation' rite, the future rider is mounted on a horse and subsequently presented with a multitude of gifts.

On the reverse, there is an image of the Sundet toi festive ceremony. On top of the coin, there is a stylized image of the national emblem of Kazakhstan and some of the elements of the Kazakh national ornament and the legend 'SUNDET TOI'. At the bottom of the coin is the logo of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the year of issue framed by an ornamental rosette.

The obverse shows the common side of all the coins in this series with the coat of arms of Kazakhstan and decorative ornamental figures. On the left and right "Republic of Kazakhstan" in Kazakh on one side and in English on the other, and the face value of the coin, 100 tenge, in the center.

Although I have presented you the most affordable coin with a 100 tenge face minted on nickel silver (copper, nickel and zinc alloy), we also have it with a 100 tenge face in cupro-nickel, and a 500 tenge face in silver. They all have the same design.

Characteristics of the 100 tenge coin in Alpaca

Denomination: 100 tenge
Metal: Nickel silver (zinc, copper and nickel)
Weight: 11.17 g
Diameter: 31 mm
Mintage: 100,000
