The second star of the Spanish national team now has its own coin. Nine days after Numismática Visual exclusively revealed that the Royal Mint was preparing an issue to commemorate Spain's victory in the 2026 World Cup, its design and all the details of its sale have been unveiled.

The new coin features a color image of the FIFA World Cup trophy, accompanied by the two stars representing Spain's titles in 2010 and 2026. It will be a Proof quality silver coin with a face value of 5 euros, a maximum mintage of 50,000 units, and an official price of 73 euros, including VAT.

It is also an official FIFA-authorized issue, which incorporates the logo, the trophy and various elements of the championship's visual identity.

The trophy and the two stars are the main features of the design

The reverse side transforms Spain's second World Cup victory into a straightforward and easily recognizable image. The official trophy occupies the center of the coin and is reproduced in color, standing out against the silver background.

On either side appear two five-pointed gold stars. They are not depicted together, as is usually the case on the national team's crest, but rather separately, visually balancing the composition. The one on the right is set against brushstrokes in the red and yellow colors of the Spanish flag.

The FIFA WORLD CUP 26™ logo is featured at the top, while the face value, 5 EURO, appears to the right. The mint mark of the Royal Mint is visible on the left.

The lower portion is reserved for the legend WORLD CHAMPIONS, arranged in a circular pattern. All these elements are placed against a geometric background formed by part of the championship's official visual identity.

FIFA's authorization allows the coin to use some of the tournament's most recognizable symbols, especially its official logo and the colored image of the trophy lifted by Spain.

Felipe VI occupies the obverse

The obverse features a left-profile portrait of King Felipe VI. Surrounding the image is the legend FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA, while at the bottom is the year of minting, 2026, located between two dots.

A beaded border completely surrounds the motifs and legends. This is the standard obverse design used on numerous Spanish collector coins issued in recent years.

A 5 euro silver coin

The issue consists of a single piece of four reales, a traditional denomination that the Royal Mint continues to use to classify its collector coins.

It is minted in 925 sterling silver, weighs 13.50 grams, and has a diameter of 33 millimeters. It features a circular shape, a reeded edge, and a Proof finish, characterized by the contrast between the polished backgrounds and the matte-looking motifs.

Although its face value is 5 euros, it is not a coin intended for circulation. Its official retail price has been set at 73 euros, including VAT.
