I am going to present you a new coin that will be issued by the Vatican State Mint, which was not announced in its numismatic program, and is announced as an extraordinary issue for next November 3. It is a 5 euro silver coin with a face that is issued under the name of Laudato Si – Septenario Anima Mundi.
The Vatican Mint dedicates a special issue to the great encyclical letter "Laudato Sì" at the beginning of the seven-year period of conversion to a lifestyle respectful of care for creation. The coin is inspired by the work "Anima Mundi" by the Chinese artist Si Qiuli, which offers with great beauty in its interpretation of the universal meaning of harmony, whose dimension encompasses everything created and opens the hope of being able to build a future for all The humanity.
Together with the vision of this communion of “Anima Mundi” elements, the coin includes the idea of communion between generations with the reproduction of the incipit of the Canticle of the Creatures, “Altissimu, omnipotent, bon Signore” (High, almighty, good Lord) , as it is written in the first draft of the Franciscan work. The idea of a healthy and harmonious Universe, suggested by Si Qiuli, is also evoked by the artist, Loredana Pancotto, through the circular crown that embraces the papal coat of arms on the obverse of the coin.
