It is a tradition, like other countries, that the Royal Mint of Belgium supports the Belgian Olympic team, which participates in the Summer Olympic Games, with a commemorative collector's coin.
This Proof quality silver coin features the gold Team Belgium logo in relief on the left. To the right, on the reflective surface, appears a representation of "The Embrace", the visual identity of the IOCB (Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee) during the Paris Olympic Games. This symbol represents two arms reaching out to envelop and embrace people, spreading a message of unity. The ends of the arms are not visible, to evoke the idea of infinity. The piece was designed by Iris Bruijns.
On the obverse, King Philip is depicted looking to the right, where his monogram is also represented.
