On May 17, the Bank of Slovakia (Národná banka Slovenska) issued a new silver 10-euro collector coin dedicated to the Centenary of the start of regular broadcasts by Czechoslovak Radio.

Under the name of Radiojournal, the Czechoslovak Radio (Československý rozhlas) began its regular broadcasts on May 18, 1923, as a private company. A turning point in the history of radio in Slovakia occurred on August 3, 1926, when Radiojournal began its regular broadcasts from Bratislava. The following year he opened a station in Košice, and in 1936 another in Banská Bystrica. The creation of the wartime Slovak state in March 1939 led to the creation of the state-controlled Slovak Radio (Slovenský rozhlas). During the Slovak National Uprising of August–October 1944, the Free Slovak Broadcasting Company (Slobodný slovenský vysielač) operated from Banská Bystrica. After the communist seizure of power in Czechoslovakia in 1948, Československý rozhlas was established as a single state organization by a law of April 28, 1948, with centralization and censorship at its head. The Velvet Revolution of 1989 meant the restoration of freedom of expression on the radio. Slovak Radio (Slovenský rozhlas) was created as a public broadcaster, and on 1 January 2011 it merged with Slovak Television (Slovenský televízia) to form Slovak Radio and Television (Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska).

On the obverse of the piece we see a trio of speakers over a vintage condenser microphone. In the background, pulsating radio waves appear over a representation of the audio signal's frequency. On the right edge is the coat of arms of Slovakia and on the left, the face value of the coin "10" and the currency "EURO". The name of the issuing country, "SLOVENSKO" (Slovakia), and the year of issue "2023" appear on the lower edge.

While the reverse of the coin shows the building of the Slovak Radio, and on it, a transmitter that emits radio waves on a map of Czechoslovakia. To the left of the building is the mintmark of the Kremnica Mint (Mincovňa Kremnica), represented by the letters 'MK', to the right is the mark of the coin's designer, Miroslav Schovanec. On the lower edge is the inscription 'ČESKOSLOVENSKÝ ROZHLAS' (Czechoslovak radio), below the year “1923”.
