Oman new 1-rial commemorative note (B245a) confirmed introduced 11.01.2026
This 1-rial commemorative note, the first polymer note issued by Oman, circulates in parallel with the preceding issues. Furthermore, 1,000 uncut sheets and 10,000 banknotes in elegantly designed envelopes are available for sale at the Central Bank of Oman (Ruwi-Salalah-Sohar) and Oman Post’s sales window at the Opera Galleria, starting from 11 January 2026.

Brown, green, and purple. Front: Arabic text; frankincense tree; frankincense tree in OVI; arched windows of the Oman Botanic Garden; Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Back: English text; Duqm Port; Duqm Refinery; Sayyid Tarik bin Taimour Cultural Complex; arched windows of the Oman Botanic Garden; coat of arms with crossed swords and khanjar (dagger).
