On September 16, the complete series of coins from the XIII Ibero-American Series – Ibero-American Capitals went on sale in Spain , with eight countries participating this year: Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Portugal. Each piece represents an iconic image of its current capital, or of another city that was once one.
Yesterday, September 24, the Central Bank of Nicaragua announced the issuance and sale of the Nicaraguan currency under the name “Puerto Salvador Allende – Managua.”
On the reverse of the coin are inscribed the legends “XIII SERIE IBEROAMERICANA 2024” and “PUERTO SALVADOR ALLENDE MANAGUA”, and in the center of the coin the representative image of the port, a modern infrastructure in the historic center of Managua, located on the coast of Lake Xolotlán, the second largest lake in Nicaragua.
The obverse of the coin shows the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Nicaragua in the center, surrounded by the coats of arms of the countries participating in this edition: Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal and Nicaragua. At the bottom of the National Coat of Arms, the denomination “DIEZ CÓRDOBAS”.
