Yesterday, July 18, 2022, the National Bank of Ukraine presented and issued three commemorative coins with the same design, under the name "Oh, red viburnum on the meadow", dedicated to this Ukrainian folk song, which, after the attack by Russian troops to Ukraine, once again sounds like a hymn of resistance.
This Ukrainian song is a brilliant poetic biography, a spiritual and moral treasure of its people. The good, generous and beautiful soul of the Ukrainian people speaks from the songs, it reflects ideals such as love for the Motherland, rejection of any oppression, courage and bravery in the fight against the enemy.
Precisely the song «Oh, red viburnum in the meadow», is the history of his people. This popular song, known since the Cossack times of the 17th century, was developed, supplemented and given a new sound during the Ukrainian revolution at the beginning of the 20th century, and today it sounds all over the world in different languages and unites different generations. of Ukrainian freedom fighters.
Three versions for the same coin
This currency is issued in three different forms. One with a silver face of 10 hryvnias and the other two with a face of 5 hryvnias in alpaca alloy, some of which will be presented in a special way.
On the obverse of the coins there is a stylized symbolic composition on a mirror background with defenders of different generations: a Cossack, a sich rifleman and a modern soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, raise a red viburnum, a poetic symbol of Ukraine, whose crown resembles the contours of the borders of his homeland.
On the reverse of the coins, a branch, a leaf and berries of viburnum are depicted on a mirror background.
