Predictably, during the month of October, the Royal Spanish Mint plans to issue a new series of coins under the name of "Animals in Danger of Extinction".

The collection is made up of 16 color coins, minted in cupro-nickel, with a face value of 1.5 euros. It is dedicated to the animals included as Critically Endangered (CR) on the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and will be presented together with an album that includes a brochure (in Spanish and English) with information about each animal.

Coins that make up the series

On the obverse of each of the coins, in a central circular area, an image of the animal is reproduced in color. At the top, in a descending circular direction and in capital letters, the legend corresponding to the animal. On the outside of the coin, a series of floral motifs and animal tracks and, in the lower part, in a circular direction and in capital letters, appears the legend SPAIN and the year of minting 2022.

Reverse common to the entire series

On the reverse (common to all the pieces), inside a central circle, in its upper part, the legend ANIMALS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION appears in a circular direction and in capital letters; below, the value of the coin 1.5 EURO, on two lines and in capital letters; and, further down, the Mint mark. Outside the central circle, an allegory with floral motifs and animal tracks is reproduced. Surrounds all the reasons and legends, a gráfila of pine nuts.
