The Central Reserve Bank of Peru has put into circulation today the second commemorative coin of the numismatic series "Constructores de la República - Bicentenario 1821-2021", within the framework of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru.
Through this collection, which consists of 9 coins, it will be remembered and paid tribute to the characters who, between the 18th and 19th centuries, fought with their ideas or weapons, to achieve the freedom of Peru.
This coin with a face of 1 sol, like all those in the series, is dedicated to Hipólito Unanue y Pavón, a doctor who, due to his great intellectual capacity, held strategic positions within the colonial structure, from which he promoted academic and scientific knowledge, and Peru's independence.
On the reverse, in the central part, you can see the image of Hipólito Unanue y Pavón. There is also a geometric design of vertical lines and the mark of the National Mint. On the left side, the phrase Bicentennial 1821-2021, the denomination in number and the name of the monetary unit. Next to the denomination the isotype of the Bicentennial can be seen, as a symbol of the series. At the
top is the character's name: Hipólito Unanue y Pavón.
On the obverse, in the central part, you can see the Coat of Arms of Peru surrounded by the legend "BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ", the year of minting 2021 and an inscribed polygon with eight sides that forms the filet of the coin.
