The INCM will issue during this month of May the second coin of the second series of coins called "Portuguese numismatic treasures", where the Casa da Moeda recreates some of the most beautiful gold specimens of Portuguese numismatics, due to their transcendence, historical importance and economic and rarity, using the most advanced technology today. The coin shows on the obverse the representation of the coat of arms of the kingdom of Portugal surrounded by the legends "2021", "Portugal" and the face value "2.5 €", on the lower left side of the coat of arms the name of the author " R. Vasquez and on the right side the legend «Casa da Moneda».

The reverse shows the image of an apostle standing in the center, holding a square in his hand and pointing to the wounds of Christ, with the Cross of the Order of Christ placed on the head of the saint and flanked by the initials "S" and "T". Bordering the design are the legends "+: INDIA · · TI -BI ·: · · CESSIT", alluding to his evangelizing action in India.
