For dog lovers and coin collectors at the same time, we have a series that, as one might say in the way it is spoken now, "is hitting it." This series has managed to combine several elements that from the beginning predicted would be a success: animals, dogs, designs and reasonable prices. I am describing the series "Hungarian Shepherd and Hunting Dogs" that tomorrow, October 4, coinciding with World Animal Day, will see how the third coin is issued, in which the protagonist is the Hungarian Gazehound or Hungarian Greyhound.

On the obverse of the coin, a semi-profile Hungarian Gazehound dog is shown. The central motif captures the attributes and characteristics of this dog, showing strength and elegance. In the upper circular legend, the inscription 'MAGYARORSZÁG' (Hungary) is shown on the right, in two horizontal lines, the mint mark 'BP' and the year of issue '2021', with the denomination '2000 FORINT' divided into two lines.

On the reverse, two Hungarian hunting dogs are represented as they chase a prey in the middle of the meadows. The representation shows well that this breed moves as if it were spanning space, sometimes reaching speeds of 60 km / h. The scene is completed with the figure of the owner on horseback who watches the chase. In the upper semicircular legend is the inscription "MAGYAR AGÁR"; At the bottom, on the right, the designer Boglárka Imrei's master brand appears, inserted in the representation of the meadows.

This collectible coin is made from an alloy of copper (75%), nickel (4%) and zinc (21%). It weighs 16 grams and has a diameter of 34 mm. Issuance is limited to just 15,000 units, all in Proof quality.

About the Hungarian Shepherd and Hunting Dogs coin series

As I said at the beginning, this series of coins has been a success since its first piece issued in 2019, running out a few days after being put on sale. The second somewhat similar and for this third everything indicates the same, despite the fact that the maximum issue volume has been increased from 10,000 to 15,000 coins.

To give you an idea, we are going to see the prices at which these coins are being sold. Departing in Hungary they cost about 15 euros. The first one is already being paid above 100 euros and the second round 40. This obviously can be purchased cheaper since the circulation has risen by 5,000 units, but whoever looks at the revaluation of their coins I believe that all the series are a safe value.

The series consists of nine coins, except for change of idea, one will be issued per year.

2019 - Hungarian Pointer

2020 - Hungarian Shepherd
