These are two gold coins dedicated to the "IV Centenary of the death of Pope Paul V" and the "III centenary of the death of Pope Clement XI", which will feature facials of 20 and 50 euros respectively.

IV Centenary of the death of Pope Paul V

This year the Vatican dedicates the 20 euro gold coin to the IV Centenary of the death of Pope Paul V. The portrait of the Pope, represented on the coin is the work of the artist Cristina De Giorgi: Paul V wears a very fine papal cloak, embroidered with the figures of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, patrons of Rome.

Camilo Borghese, born in 1550, belonged to one of the richest and most powerful families in Rome; he was elected pope in 1605 and died in January 1621. A man of great culture and humanity, he actively dedicated himself to expanding the missions of the Jesuits in Asia, Africa and South America; In Italy he founded schools for the poor, and in Rome his passion for art and culture is attested even today by numerous monuments.

III Centenary of the Death of Pope Clement XI

The 50 euro gold coin is dedicated to the III centenary of the death of Pope Clement XI. The artist Antonella Napolione represents the pope in the act of blessing; below two angels hold the coat of arms of the noble Albani family, in which an eight-pointed star and a mountain with three peaks are represented.

Giovanni Francesco Albani, born in Urbino in 1649 and died in 1721, was elected pope in 1700, at the young age of 51. A cultured man and a great lover of art, he devoted himself above all to cultural politics, from which Urbino and the city of Rome benefited enormously. With the papal bull “Comissi nobis” of 1708, Clement XI made the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary universal.
