The Bulgarian National Bank has this year issued a commemorative copper coin under the theme “100 years of the birth of Stoyanka Mutafova”, belonging to the “Bulgarian Artists” series. The coin, which has a face of 2 leva, was put up for sale at an approximate price of 15 euros.
Stoyanka Konstantinova Mutafova, known as "Bulgarian queen of comedy" (February 2, 1922 - December 6, 2019),She was a Bulgarian actress. Throughout her life she played more than 100 theatrical roles and starred in some of the most iconic Bulgarian films. She gave countless performances on the stages of Bulgaria and abroad, and was one of the founders of the Satire Theatre, one of the most popular Bulgarian theatres. Shortly before her 95th birthday, she was nominated for the Guinness World Record in the category "Longest Active Actress."
On the reverse of the coin there is a portrait of Stoyanka Mutafova, on the right in a semicircle the inscription in two lines “100 YEARS OF THE BIRTH OF STOYANKA MUTAFOVA”.
The obverse of the coin depicts the following elements: the BNB emblem with the year “1879”; in the upper semicircle the inscription “BANCO NACIONAL DE BULGARIA”, and in the lower part the year of issue “2022” and the face value “2 LEVA”.
