Thanks to the Official Journal of the European Union, we have learned the design that will present one of the 2 euro commemorative coins of Luxembourg for 2022. Specifically, it is the one dedicated to the "50th anniversary of the flag of Luxembourg" and its design is exactly the same that anyone could have imagined, the face of Grand Duke Henry (mandatory by law) and the flag.
The design of the coin shows the effigy of Grand Duke Henri on the left and the Luxembourgish tricolor flag on the right. The year '1972' appears above the flag and the year of issue '2022' below. At the bottom center is the name of the issuing country 'LËTZEBUERG'.
The issue volume is 500,000 coins that will be issued on a date yet to be determined.
