We have very important changes in the Iberian Lynx gold coin issued by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre – Real Casa de la Moneda this year. After this nine series of investment coins, known worldwide as bullion coins, will be inaugurated in 2021, in 2022 the piece will present multiple changes, one of them is the issuance of a tenth of an ounce coin with the same design, designed for those collectors or investors who needed a coin more accessible to their possibilities.
With the issuance of this coin, the same typology is continued as the one ounce gold coin issued in 2021 dedicated to the «Iberian Lynx», and that its sale price to the public is established based on the price of gold used in its composition. ; On this occasion the coin is made of a tenth of an ounce of gold, apart from the weight, it differs from the previous year in that its edge will be striated instead of smooth.
The obverse reproduces the motifs and legends of a royal of eight, of the columnar type: two hemispheres under a royal crown, flanked by the columns of Hercules with the motto PLUS VLTRA, all on a sea with waves. At the top, in a circular direction and in capital letters, appears the legend FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA. In the lower part of the coin, in a circular direction, the legend 1/10 OUNCE 999.9 GOLD.
Surrounding the motifs and legends is a gráfila of pine nuts.
On the reverse, an image of the head of an Iberian lynx is reproduced. To its left, the Mint mark and the year of minting 2022. At the top of the coin, the face value 0.15 and the words EURO and CENT, in two lines and in capital letters. In the lower part and in a circular direction, the legend IBERIAN LYNX. Surrounding the motifs and legends is a gráfila of pine nuts.
