The great cities of the world are characterized by having emblematic places that are a treasure for all humanity. The new City Views series celebrates the breathtaking views of these architectural wonders and preserves their legacy for generations to come.

The series begins with a coin featuring the Tower of London, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by William the Conqueror as a display of his might, this imposing stone fortress has dominated the city's skyline for over a thousand years. Featuring a reverse design adapted from a work by the artist Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-77), whose views of London form an important historical record of the city, the coin is available in a variety of gold and silver formats.

Clare Maclennan, Director of Commemorative Coins at The Royal Mint, said:

“The first of our new City Views collection features London's beautiful skyline in an iconic design that also includes the Tower of London, original home of The Royal Mint. Combining unique craftsmanship and innovative laser cutting technology, the intricate designs on City Views coins are as stunning as the views themselves and, drawing on numismatic tradition, are expected to prove popular with architecture coin collectors around the world. the world."

The obverse of the coins shows the traditional portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of England, also by Jody Clark.
