The Australian Mint has just presented a coin destined to be donated, under the name "donation dollar" this 1 dollar coin is designed for those who find it in exchange to use it in solidarity.

The Royal Australian Mint is engaged in the minting of 25 million "charity" coins over the next three years, approximately one for every Australian, in an attempt to increase solidarity among its citizens.

The CEO of the Mint, Ross MacDiarmid, said that he wanted Australians to find one of these coins that have a very special design that will catch their attention, has a central green core, notice it and In the message that is written: "Give to help others" (Give to help others). Hopefully, they will see the message that this coin conveys and think about who needs it the most and end up donating it. For the first time, we have a currency that not only generates economic value, but generates compassion and generosity, and encourages people to think of those most in need.

This initiative, a first in the world, is supported by research that indicates that the majority o Australians, 57 percent, said they are likely to donate the coin if they find it in exchange.

The Mint encourages donations "in all forms", whether it is a donation to a charity, or simply a gift from someone in need. At the moment 3.5 million of this solidarity coin have already been minted, which will be put into circulation on September 5, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Charity.

The United Kingdom is already considering issuing a currency of this or similar type in its country. In ours, it would also be a very good idea for the FNMT to sign up for it.
