Exploring among coins with unusual themes and designs, I come across a series called "Fear Tales", dedicated to alternative fairy tales, where their cheerful and funny characters with cute and childish aspects are surrounded by gloomy and gloomy figures that portend endings not as happy as we are used to.

The second coin in this series is issued in the next few weeks and is inspired by the story "The Little Match Girl." The protagonist, a poor girl who sells matches to earn a few coins with which to subsist, appears accompanied by a disturbing character who predicts a tragic outcome.

This beautiful 2 oz silver coin is the second release in the "Fear Tales" series. The reverse of the coin depicts a scene where the young woman tries to sell matches on the street. In the flame of the matches she sees her grandmother, the only person who has treated her with love and affection. When the matches go out, the girl dies and behind her, death awaits to take her soul.

The coin presents a realistic front view thanks to Smartminting technology, with which large reliefs are achieved. It has an aged finish and selective coloring. 

 

The obverse of all the coins in the series represent a deep and dark forest, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIC OF PALAU", issuing country, "10 $", the face value and "SADLY EVER AFTER" ( SAD FOREVER).

The coin is presented in a beautiful box along with its certificate of authenticity. The circulation is very limited, only 500 pieces.

As I said at the beginning, this is the second coin in the series. I am going to show you the first one issued in 2019 dedicated to the story of Little Red Riding Hood, to which it seems that fate does not have a good ending either.

The coin features a stunning image of Little Red Riding Hood in the jaws of a terrifyingly sharp-toothed wolf. On the sides are the inscriptions "FEAR TALES", series name and "2019", year of issue.
