The first Italian commemorative 2-euro coin of 2020 has been put into circulation this Monday, September 14, as comrade Daniele has informed me from the Italian. It is the coin dedicated to the "Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco", which is how the Fire Brigade of Italy is known.

Before continuing with the presentation of the currency I want to clarify the following. If you already have this coin in your collections, the piece you have belongs to one of the rolls that the Italian Mint IPZS put up for sale on its website. The coin destined for circulation, the one shown in the image below, began to be distributed in the Banks of Italy last Monday.

The coin shows, in the center, the logo of the National Fire Department. On the left is "RI", an acronym for the Italian Republic; on the right, the year of the issue of the coin «2020», and «R», mint mark of the Mint of Rome; at the bottom, «LDS», the initials of the designer Luciana De Simoni; in the upper part, the legend arranged in the shape of an arch "CORPO NAZIONALE DEI VIGILI DEL FUOCO". The twelve stars of the European flag appear on the circular crown of the coin.

The issue volume of this coin is 3 million. Of these, 20,000 in BU quality were offered for sale on a coincard and 6,000 in Proof quality in a case. 5,000 rolls like the one in the image were also put on sale. These products were issued at the beginning of the year.

With the second 2 euro commemorative Italy 2020 coin dedicated to the «150th Anniversary of the birth of Maria Montessori», something similar happens, rolls and the Proof version have been put on sale, but the coin destined for circulation has no announced date.
