The National Bank of Hungary has recently unveiled a new commemorative issue dedicated to the centenary of László Papp, an important figure in boxing.

25,000 FORINTH COIN

Obverse

The obverse of the coin depicts a boxing ring, with the inscription “100 ÉVE SZÜLETETT PAPP LÁSZLÓ” (László Papp, born 100 years ago) in the two horizontal fields between the ropes. The circular inscription “MAGYARORSZÁG” (Hungary) is located on the upper edge, with the denomination “25000” and “FORINT” in two horizontal lines below, and the mint mark “BP.” and the date of minting “2026” in the lower right. The designer’s mark “VG” (Gábor Veres) is also located on the right edge of the obverse, integrated into the ropes.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin features a portrait of László Papp wearing boxing gloves. A circular inscription in the upper left corner displays Papp's birth and death years, "1926–2003," with the boxer's signature in the lower center.
