The famous Renaissance painter Michelangelo painted in his early years The Holy Family, known as the Tondo Doni, for the wedding of the wealthy Florentine merchant, Agnolo Doni. This painting is considered one of the masterpieces of 16th century Italian art.
Now you too can have a version of this famous work reproduced on a coin thanks to the latest issue of the "Micropuzzle Treasures" series, dedicated to the Art of the micropuzzle.
This 3 Ounce Silver coin is the fifth release in Power Coin's exclusive “Micropuzzle Treasures” series. The coin features over 260 micro puzzle pieces minted with the Smartminting High Relief technology, has detailed colouration and comes in a themed case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity.
The reverse of the coin depicts a beautiful Michelangelo masterpiece: Tondo Doni. The painting features the Christian Holy Family (baby Jesus, Mary, and Saint Joseph) together with John the Baptist in the foreground and shows five ambiguous nude male figures in the background. The inclusion of these nude figures has been interpreted in various ways. The design features three embossed levels: the base, the puzzle, and the missing puzzle pieces on top. On the left of the reverse, the inscription: "2023", the year of issue.
The obverse of the coin features the Palau coat of arms, surrounded by a beautiful decorative micro-puzzle pattern. Around the obverse, the inscriptions: "MICROPUZZLE TREASURES", name of the series, "REPÚBLICA DE PALAU", issuing country and "20 $", as face value. Each coin is individually numbered on the edge.
The coin is presented as you can see in the image, along with its certificate of authenticity. The print run is very limited, only 499 units.
