Hansel and Gretel is one of the most famous stories written by the Brothers Grimm, in which we are told the story of parents who extreme poverty makes them abandon their children in the forest, waiting for someone to find them and give them a better life. This story, like almost all of them, has a happy ending, something that seems to change in the new interpretation of the coin that I present to you today. 

Belonging to the "Fear Tales" series, dedicated to alternative fairy tales, where its cheerful and funny characters with tender and childish aspects are surrounded by gloomy and gloomy figures, the third coin in the collection is dedicated to the story of "Hansel and Gretel."

The reverse of the coin shows Hansel and Gretel holding lollipops in their hands. Above them, an evil witch is portrayed with evil red eyes, in her hair appears the inscription "FEAR TALES", the name of the series of coins. On the right, we see the iconic gingerbread house and the inscription "2021", which refers to the year of issue.

This beautiful coin composed of two ounces of silver, presents a very realistic front view, thanks to Smartminting technology, with which large reliefs are achieved. It has an aged finish and selective coloring.

The obverse of all the coins in the series represent a deep and dark forest, the Coat of Arms of Palau and the inscriptions: «REPUBLIC OF PALAU», issuing country, «10 $», the face value and the legend «SADLY EVER AFTER »(SADLY FOREVER).

It seems to all the protagonists of these coins that destiny does not have a good ending prepared for them.
