With the date of minting 2022, a new piece of 10 rubles of the series of bimetallic coins destined for circulation called "Russian Federation" has been issued, this collection has been issued by the Bank of Russia for a few years and is dedicated to its Regions ( Oblast). The last of the series, for now, was issued on November 9, with an issue volume of 10 million coins, this time it was the turn of Karacháyevo-Cherkessia, one of the twenty-one republics that, together with the forty-seven oblast, nine krais, four autonomous districts, and two federal cities make up the eighty-three federal subjects of Russia.
The Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia was established on January 12, 1922. It is located in the foothills of the Northwest Caucasus. Its administrative center is the city of Cherkesk. Most of the territory is occupied by mountains (around 80%). Mount Elbrús, the highest peak in the Caucasus, is located on the border with Kabardia-Balkaria. It is rich in water resources. There are around 130 high mountain lakes of glacial origin and many waterfalls. The waters of 172 small and large rivers flow through the territory. There are large reserves of mineral-medicinal waters and thermal springs.
On the reverse of the coin, in its central core, the coat of arms of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia is displayed, on the ring the inscriptions, at the top "Russian Federation" and at the bottom "Republic of Karachay. Cherkessia ”, complete the composition.
The obverse of the coin, at the top of the ring is the inscription "Bank of Russia", at the bottom "2022". To the left and right of the ring a branch of laurel and oak, respectively, elements that invade the central disk. In the center are the number "10" and the inscription "ruble" indicating the value of the coin. Inside the figure "0" in a latent image is the figure "10" and the inscription "rub." The mint mark is shown at the bottom.
