Next Friday, February 12, the Chinese New Year begins that will last until January 31, 2022. One of the traditions that each year that passes is consolidated among its citizens is that of having the currency in which the animal is represented. It marks the Chinese horoscope and that this time is the Ox, a coin that is seen as a lucky charm for the year that begins.

The People's Bank of China has issued a 10 yuan bimetallic coin with a face dedicated to the Year of the Ox, a commemorative coin destined for circulation, which usually does little, since its citizens usually withdraw them from banks and keep them.

The reverse of the coin shows the stylized image of an ox, completing the composition are floral ornaments and a typical Chinese lantern.

The obverse shows the face value of the coin in both letters and numbers on a floral ornament. The year of issue "2021" is also shown at the bottom, and the text "People's Bank of China" at the top.

Characteristics of the coin

Face value: 10 yuan Metals: copper alloys and brass Diameter: 27 mm Date of issue: January 29, 2021 Volume of issue: 150,000,000
