Belonging to the “Fauna and flora in Slovakia” series, a new coin from the collection is issued today, August 23, in which the protagonist is the “Eurasian Lynx”. It is a 5 euro face coin minted in brass with a very affordable price and a design that will captivate numismatics and animal lovers alike.

The obverse of the coin shows a lynx cub on the left side and an adult lynx on the right side. Below the adult is the mintmark of the Kremnica Mint (Mincovňa Kremnica), consisting of the letters 'MK' placed between two dies, and the stylized letters 'TL', referring to the designer of the obverse Tomáš Lamač. The name of the issuing country "SLOVENSKO" and the year of issue "2022" are inscribed along the upper left edge and part of the upper right edge. Below them is the Slovak coat of arms. The '5 EURO' denomination and currency appear at the bottom of the design, above two lynx tracks at the bottom edge.

On the reverse, occupying the left and center of the design, is the head of a lynx in profile. To the right of the image, in two lines, appears the scientific name of the lynx “LYNX LYNX”, and below it the stylized letters “LR”, in reference to the reverse designer Roman Lugár. The name of the lynx in Slovak “RYS OSTROVID” appears on the lower right edge.
