In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint has issued a special circulation $1 coin that pays tribute to this pivotal institution in the country's history. The coin comes in two versions: one with color details and one without color.
The reverse of the coin, designed by artist Silvia Pecota, depicts the facade of the Supreme Court of Canada building. In the colorized version, the 150th anniversary logo appears as a blue circle with the inscription "150" in white in the center, framed by a white laurel branch in the lower left and the dates "1875–2025" in the upper right. The inscriptions "SUPREME COURT OF CANADA" and "COUR SUPRÊME DU CANADA" appear on either side of this image. The uncolored version features the same design, but without the colored accents.
The obverse of both versions features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati.
