On March 25, the National Bank of Ukraine issued a new 10-hryvnia commemorative coin in honor of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) is a military force with security and law enforcement functions, attached to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Its mission covers a wide range of tasks essential to the protection of the state, maintaining public order, and ensuring public safety. In close collaboration with other security and defense agencies, the NGU plays a key role in national security, border protection, the protection and defense of critical infrastructure, as well as in counterterrorism and anti-sabotage operations.

The National Guard was established in March 2014 in response to the escalating conflict with Russia in eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. Its structure combines regular military forces, internal troops, and volunteers, all united by the purpose of defending Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. On March 13, 2014, the Ukrainian Parliament approved the Law on the National Guard of Ukraine, thereby establishing a strategic force capable of confronting hybrid threats and responding rapidly to security challenges throughout the country.

Since its creation, the National Guard has established itself as a key component of national defense, strengthening internal stability and contributing significantly to the protection of the Ukrainian state.

Some of these coins are supplied in rolls of 25 coins, presented in a themed wrapper that reflects the coin's design in full color.

The reverse displays the legends surrounding the composition: CHEST, MUDZHNYST, ZAKON (honor, courage, law) (above) and NATIONAL GUARD OF UKRAINE (National Guard of Ukraine) (below). The main element of the composition is the image of the beret badge of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is based on a straight equilateral cross with diverging ends. In the center of the cross, in an octagon, is the small coat of arms of Ukraine. The background of the coin features a symbolic shield representing protection and security.

On the other hand, the obverse features the small coat of arms of Ukraine at the top; in the center, surrounded by an ancient Rus ornament, is the semicircular legend of the issuing country "UKRAINE" and the face value "10 hryvnias"; against the background of the ornament are the year of issue of the coin, "2025" (below) and the mintmark of the Printing and Minting House of the NBU (on the right).
