Well minted both for the type and considering the assigned designation, the surfaces possessing a considerable luster while the devices present a clarity not often seen.

6. Michael I Apafi gold Ducat 1687

Michael I Apafi gold Ducat 1687 AU50 NGC, KM505, Fr-488. 3.38gm. Half-length portrait with fur cap / crowned coat of arms. Despite light wear to the high points, considerable luster remains, and it perhaps would not be amiss to see the present piece with a higher certified grade. The very first example we have seen of this charming Transylvania type.

Maria Theresa gold Ducat 1754 AU58 NGC, KM610, Fr-543. Just a touch is displayed over the highpoints, with ample mint luster remaining. A scarce type in any condition.

Maria Theresa gold 2 Ducat 1777-HS MS61 NGC, KM650, Fr-541. Slight die weakness to high points, but overall quite nice with pleasing aged-gold surfaces.
