 1. Carol I 20 Bani 1905 MS65 PCGS, Brussels mint

Carol I 20 Bani 1905 MS65 PCGS, Brussels mint, KM33, Schäffer/Stambuliu-57. The scarcest production of this two-year CuNi type that features a center hole and a simplistic but quite striking design scheme. Very coveted at this Gem Mint State condition level, very scarce in any grades higher.

2. Carol I 20 Bani 1906 MS67 PCGS, Brussels mint

Carol I 20 Bani 1906 MS67 PCGS, Brussels mint, KM33, Schäffer/Stambuliu-60. More difficult to locate than its Hamburg mint production counterpart of the same date, but this transcendent specimen is a special piece no matter where it was minted. Thoroughly lustrous, heavily gloss-laden, and sporting some excellent colorful iridescence. The sole-finest example at this Superb Gem grade level at either PCGS or NGC and possibly the nicest example of the date the Romanian market will encounter for a long time.

4. Carol I silver Specimen Pattern 50 Bani 1869 SP65 PCGS, Heaton mint

Incredible Gem Pattern 50 Bani From The Heaton Mint

Carol I silver Specimen Pattern 50 Bani 1869 SP65 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM-Pn18, Schäffer/Stambuliu-11-1.1. An enchanting "Wyon" Pattern issue, presented here in the most desirable of metal formats. The obverse is cloaked in a smoky gray patina with poignant, polychromatic undercurrents. The toning on the reverse is a bit is a bit more subtle, with about half of the original argent brilliance still visible to the naked eye. Rarely does this Heaton mint Pattern surface in this metal, and to our knowledge it has never been offered in modern times at such a premier level of preservation.

5. Carol I 50 Bani 1873 MS62 PCGS, Brussels mint

Carol I 50 Bani 1873 MS62 PCGS, Brussels mint, KM9, Schäffer/Stambuliu-8. Coin Alignment. Not as scarce as this issue constructed with a medallic alignment but still very desirable in Mint State. This is quite a handsome example for the assigned grade point showing appreciable pewter patina and marked underlying brilliance.

Carol I 50 Bani 1881-V MS63 PCGS, Vienna mint, KM13, Schäffer/Stambuliu-20. Exhibiting palpable originality by way of a mottled mauve and navy patina over cartwheeling bloom. Just shy of the top grade at either certification company, an excellent acquisition for the type.

Carol I 50 Bani 1884-B MS63 PCGS, Bucharest mint, KM21, Schäffer/Stambuliu-32. 9. Carol I Proof 50 Bani 1894 PR63 PCGS, Brussels mint

Carol I Proof 50 Bani 1894 PR63 PCGS, Brussels mint, KM23, Schäffer/Stambuliu-40. Unlisted by Schäffer and Stambuliu in Proof, this current specimen was gauged to have enough special qualities and Cameo-like brilliance to earn a Proof designation from PCGS. The mottled surfaces and quite distinctively toned, easily giving way to the pin-point detail of the design motifs and luminosity from the depths of the fields. Seemingly a rare occurrence in Proof, we would not be surprised to see elevated bidder response for this offering.
