It has been just over a month since the INCM of Portugal (Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda) issued a coin in two of its three versions, with the same design but in different metals, dedicated to the 2024 European Championship of National Football Teams. Then one of the versions of this coin could not be issued, and it was issued today, July 24.

By the way, before continuing with the presentation of this new coin, I want to inform you that the coin I presented here a few days ago to celebrate the Spanish team's UEFA Euro 2024 title has been delayed for a few days. Initially, it was announced that it would be issued and put on sale today, but I have just learned that it will not be until next Tuesday, July 30.

The obverse of the coin shows a stylised general representation of a stadium, with the coat of arms of Portugal at the top, in the centre of an armillary sphere. On either side of the central football field are the inscriptions of the coin's face value "5 EURO" and the name of the issuing country "Portugal", while at the bottom of the composition is the official logo of the event "UEFA EURO 2024".

 

On the other hand, on the reverse of the coin we see in the centre a dynamic football in motion next to the feet of two players, adorned by ribbons coming out of each of them. Around the upper edge of the coin appears the text of the name of the event "UEFA EURO 2024TM", and on the lower right edge the name of the author of the piece "Hugo Maciel" and the identifier of the "Casa da Moeda".
