The eternal struggle between good and evil seems to have no end, and this is the central theme of the first bullion coin issued by the Germania Mint jointly with the Central Bank of Malta, under the name "The Golden Eagle."

The image of a majestic golden eagle engaged in fierce combat with a snake symbolizes the eternal fight against temptation. This confrontation has as a backdrop the turbulent waves of the sea, which symbolize the Mediterranean Sea, within which Malta is located as an island.

On the reverse of this pure silver 5 euro coin is the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta within a crown inspired by a painting that adorns the ceiling of the Grand Master's Palace in Valletta. The entire scene is surrounded by olive branches and palm trees, which are symbols of peace. Lily flowers convey a sense of majesty and glory, while roses represent purity and harmony. Additionally, this coin has the distinction of being the first to bear the Germania Mint mintmark.
