A coin commemorating Ludwig van Beethoven, a renowned composer and pianist on the 250th anniversary of his birth, has just been put up for sale. Beethoven was the last important representative of Viennese classicism and is considered one of the greatest and most influential composers of all time.

Without a doubt, he is one of the best geniuses in the history of music, despite the deafness that reduced him, he continued composing, directing and playing. He left behind a fundamental musical production, extraordinary in terms of expressive power and ability to evoke emotions.

The coin designed by Sandra Deiana shows Beethoven playing a very special piano reminiscent of the shape of the Moon, in reference to his famous "Moonlight" sonata. The composition is completed by the name of the composer «BEETHOVEN», the year of his birth and his 250th anniversary, which is also the year of issue, «1770 - 2020», and the face value «10 EURO».

This purity 925 silver piece has been issued by the Republic of San Marino and minted by the prestigious Austrian Mint Münze Österreich.

The obverse is the work of Antonella Napolione, with the San Marino coat of arms in the center surrounded by the name of the country. At the bottom is the artist's name.
