5 euro coin Proof - 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven

On December 16, 1770 he was born in Bonn Ludwig van Beethoven, and the Vatican celebrates the great German composer and pianist on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth. A precocious talent of his, unfortunately not appreciated by an evil father who forced him to strenuous trials in order to sell him as a "child prodigy", and yet the passion and ardor with which young Ludwig spoke and defended ideals of freedom and justice that emerged from the French Revolution were never extinguished, not even by the monstrosities of existence, nor by the hearing loss that affected him at the age of thirty.

The bimetallic 5 euro coin is the work of Orietta Rossi. The representation of the musician's face is inspired by the portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven by Joseph Karl Stieler in 1829, while the pentagram in the background is taken from the score of the famous composition “For Elisa”, from 1810.
