Today, December 20, the last 2-euro commemorative coin issued in 2022 was put into circulation. It is the fourth coin in the series "Lithuanian Ethnographic Regions", in which the protagonist is the "Suvalkija Region". The series has been broadcasting since 2019 and will continue until 2023, at which time the five pieces that make it up will be completed, the same as the regions in Lithuania.

The national side of the coin shows a Bull on the coat of arms, the coat of arms is decorated on both sides with silver oak branches with acorns attached at the bottom with a silver ribbon with the inscription VIENYBĖ TEŽYDI (UNITY CAN FLOURISH). The oak branches symbolize the rich history of the region, dating back to the pagan times of the Lithuanian state. In the past, the bull was the most widespread animal in this region. The composition is surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA) and the year of issue 2022 at the top and the inscription SUVALKIJA and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint at the bottom. On the outside of the coin there are twelve stars, arranged as in the flag of the European Union.

The edge of the coin, like all those issued by Lithuania in this value, has the legends: LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ * (FREEDOM * UNITY * WELL-BEING *).

The issue volume is 500,000 coins, of which 5,000 in BU quality are presented in coincards.

Coins that make up the series and years of issue

 2019 – Samogitia Region

2020 – Aukštaitija Region

2021 – Dzūkija Region

2022 – Suwalkija Region

2023 – Lithuania Minor Region

Two 2022 coins remain to be issued

By the way, Andorra still has to issue its two commemorative 2-euro coins for this year, but these will already be issued in 2023, predictably on January 16. I can also tell you that the sale price to wholesalers has risen 2 euros compared to last year.
