Last October the first coin in the series was issued that the Royal British Mint, The Royal Mint, is dedicating to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. In the first piece, Harry Potter himself was represented, in the second, which has just been issued, and I present to you today, the Hogwarts Express is shown, a train that takes students to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The coin featuring a 50 pence face can be purchased with or without colour, this one features a design of the iconic steam train, taken from the cover of the 2015 illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
The obverse continues to display the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II created by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. The face value of 50 PENCE (pence) and the year of issue, 2022, appear around the image of the monarch.
