If we are looking for very affordable coins available to everyone without giving up high-quality designs and mintings, the series that the United States Mint "America the Beautiful Quarter" has been issuing since 2010 is a good example of this. . The second coin of 2020 belonging to this series dedicated to emblematic places and national parks of the United States, is issued as a circulation coin tomorrow May 18. This new 25-cent piece is dedicated to the "Weir Farm National Historic Site" located in the state of Connecticut.

Weir Farm National Historic Site is associated with the development of American Impressionism during the heyday of the art movement in the late 19th century. The park was home to three generations of American artists who started with Julian Alden Weir, who acquired the farm in 1882.

Weir Farm is a pristine environment where contemporary artists can contact and paint in the same place that many American masters did. Designed and preserved by artists, the historic site is a unique crossroads of creativity, art, and nature.

Weir Farm includes a cultural landscape of more than 242,000 m² consisting of 15 historical structures, including houses, barns, studios and outbuildings. The landscape features historic gardens, stone terraces, orchards, fields, stone walls, a pond, and hundreds of historic painting sites, all expertly preserved. Weir Farm's artistic tradition is kept alive through an artist residency program, free art supplies, night painting, and art classes.

The coin design by Justin Kunz portrays an artist, wearing a painter's gown, painting in front of Julian Alden Weir's studio at Weir Farm. The Weir Farm National Historic Site commemorates the life and work of the American Impressionist painter J. Alden Weir and other artists who either stayed at the site or lived there. The design is inspired by Weir paintings created on the property, as well as other works created in this rural setting, the design includes the legend "A NATIONAL PARK FORT ART". The inscriptions are "WEIR FARM", "CONNECTICUT", "2020" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (Out of many, one).

On the obverse of all coins in the series, President George Washington is depicted, in a 2010 restored version by John Flanagan of the original portrait used in 1932 in the Washington Quarter.
