Once again a country, this time Ghana, includes in its monetary cone a currency that replaces a ticket. The currency that is incorporated has a 2 cedis facial and replaces the ticket with the same value. While the cost of producing the coin is much higher, the fact that it lasts much longer than the long-term bill ends up being more profitable for the state coffers.

The bank of Ghana also warns in a statement that other low denomination bills will also be replaced by coins, in fact with the value of 1 cedi a coin and a banknote coexist that will be withdrawn. Although it has not been officially announced, it is quite possible that the 5 cedis ticket also loses its site in favor of a coin.

The substituted ticket will continue to be a valid payment method and will coexist with the currency, until due to its deterioration they end up disappearing from the circulation.

In the following video, broadcast by the Bank of Ghana, we see the features and security measures that this new bimetallic currency has.
