The truth is that we should not be surprised by the issue of the latest currencies that the Bank of Russia has just issued, if we take into account that military and military issues are a fairly recurring issue in its issues. But it is that on this occasion there have been nothing less than nine coins issued in a single strike, in which in each of them we are represented a weapon of war, although these objects are not those that you want to honor, but to The men who designed them.

The coins of which I speak and I will show you below have a facial of 25 rubles each, were officially issued on December 2. The name with which the series is presented is «Weapons of the Great Victory (Weapon Designers)», with them we want to continue commemorating, as well as the 10 rubles that I showed you a few days ago, the 75th anniversary of Victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War, term used by the Soviets to war against Nazi Germany during World War II.

The coins

The reverse of the first two coins, in the order of the image, are dedicated to weapons designers Vasiliy Grabin and his Soviet campaign cannon M1942 (ZiS-3), and Josef Kotin and his heavy tank IS-2. Along the circumference are the inscriptions 'ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and the name of the weapon designer at the bottom.

The reverse of the third and fourth coins are dedicated to weapons designers Mikhail Koshkin and the medium tank T-34, and Boris Malinin and the Shchuka class submarine. Along the circumference are the inscriptions 'ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and the name of the weapon designer at the bottom.

The reverse of the fifth and sixth coins, are dedicated to weapons designers Vladimir Petlyakov and the dive bomber Pe-2, and Fyodor Petrov and the M-30 howitzer. Along the circumference are the inscriptions 'ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and the name of the weapon designer at the bottom.

The reverse of the seventh and eighth coins, are dedicated to gun designers Nikolai Polikarpov and the Polikarpov Po-2 (U2) biplane, and Sergei Simonov and the Símonov anti-tank rifle. Along the circumference are the inscriptions 'ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and the name of the weapon designer at the bottom.

The reverse of the ninth coin is dedicated to the gun designer Georgy Shpagin and the Shpagin machine gun (PPSH-41). Along the circumference are the inscriptions 'ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and the name of the weapon designer at the bottom.

The obverse of the coin, common to the entire series, shows a relief image of the coat of arms of the Russian Federation, the semicircle inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (Russian Federation). Below the inscriptions in three lines: “БАНК РОССИИ” (Bank of Russia), the value of the currency “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 RUBLOS) and the year of issuance “2019”. The mint mark is shown on the right.

Characteristics of the coins

Alloy and minting quality: Cupronickel / UNC Coin
diameter and weight: 27 mm / 10 g
Emission volume: 1,000,000 each

These coins minted in cupronickel have liberating power in the country, although their sale price is higher. As a reference, if you decide to get them, the prices seen on Ebay-type pages are around 50 euros for the series, although all this can fluctuate according to demand. As the circulation is 1 million pieces of each, I do not believe that prices will rise, now or in the long term.
