Carol I 5 Lei 1880-B MS65 NGC, KM12, Dav-272. Name near truncation. Essentially medallic in execution, with bold design features that soar over the fields. Speckled graphite tone dresses the obverse, the reverse expressing a soft sandalwood patina that concentrates against the devices to exceptional impact. Ex. R.L. Carol I gilt-bronze Pattern 100 Lei 1940 MS62 NGC, Bucharest mint, Stamb-180, cf. KM-XM12 (in gold). Medallic axis. A gilt-bronze Pattern of the gold type struck to commemorate the 10th year of Reign for Carol II. Obv. Bare head right. Rev. Crown over Royal cypher, rays behind, within circle of thorns. Quite rare and seldom seen.
