The truth is that the advances that the world of numismatics presents us with one day and another also never cease to amaze us. The coin that I am showing you today is an example of this, thanks to the audacity they have had in making a coin of no less than 65 mm in diameter, made up of 5 ounces of silver, in which a Bengal Tiger is represented, formed by small blocks of pieces as if it were a Lego toy.
The coin I am talking about is the first in the BELOVED BUILDING BLOCKS series, a new and innovative collection inspired by Lego toys. The reverse of the coin features the face of a Bengal tiger formed from Lego micro-bricks minted in ultra-high relief. The coin is made up of almost 15 layers of bricks, and its creators have taken more than three years to come up with the right technology to mint it.
Although an antique finish would have been easier, the Proof quality has been chosen to make the coin more special and unique. The coloration of the coin was also quite a challenge. The color has been applied directly over the silver (without using a white base), giving it a shiny metallic look. When the coin is tilted, the color contrasts with the non-colored area of the tiger's face, creating a wonderful light effect.
