The Bank of Kazakhstan announces in a press release the issuance of a coin, with three versions and two facials with the same design, to commemorate the "75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War". The Great Patriotic War is the term used by the Soviets to war against Nazi Germany during World War II. Due to the worldwide pandemic, the currency will be issued on a date to be determined when circumstances allow it.
There are three versions that will be available. Two with 100-tenge facials and one with 500-tenge facials. Those of 100 tenge minted one in silver nickel and the other in cupronickel differ visually in that one is colored and the other is not. The 500 tenge, which also has color, is made of 925 silver of purity and Proof quality.
The reverse shows a stylized image of the silhouette of a Soviet soldier on a background that shows a wall full of cracks, symbolizing the destruction caused by the war. In the foreground, the image of the eternal flame, from which a chain of doves is formed, symbolizing the Soviet soldiers who gave life to return peace to earth. On the right side of the composition are stylized images of carnations. At the top is a five-pointed star that separates the dates of the 1945-2020 anniversary, and at the same time is part of the soldier's silhouette.
The obverse shows in the center the national coat of arms of Kazakhstan, surrounded by inscriptions in Cyrillic, Republic of Kazakhstan, to emphasize the historical connection to events of that time, the face value 100 or 500 tenge and decorative ornamental figures.
