O nouă monedă comemorativă din Slovenia - 23.11.2019

The Bank of Slovenia announces the issuance of the commemorative 2-euro coin 2019 dedicated to the «Centenary of the foundation of the University of Ljubljana», next Monday, November 25. In total there are one million pieces that are issued distributed as follows: 989,250 in rolls for circulation, 2,000 in Proof quality presented in a capsule, 8,000 in BU quality within Euroset 2019 together with the rest of the circulation coins of the year in course and, finally, 750 in Proof version within the euroset in this quality along with the rest of circulation values ​​2019.




The motif of the coin by Daniela Vidmar Podboj and Tomaž Podboj shows part of the Ljubljana Universality logo in the center. On the left side, the university facade, which normally appears above the solid square in the logo, is replaced by the inscription "100 LET UNIVERZE V LJUBLJANI" (100 years of the University of Ljubljana). The background of the design is textured to achieve a greater impact of the inscription and the solid square. The inscription of the name of the country and the year of issue «SLOVENIJA 2019» appear in the lower right.

The coins were minted by the Italian Mint, Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, which was selected in an international tender. Commemorative coins in Proof quality will be priced at 15 euros, while euroset will cost 25 euros in BU quality, and 70 euros for the Proof version. These are the prices at which they will go on sale in Slovenia.
