Yesterday, April 24, the two 2-euro commemorative Luxembourg 2023 coins were issued, dedicated to the "175th anniversary of the Chamber of Deputies and first Constitution" and to the "25th anniversary of the admission of Grand Duke Henri as member of the International Olympic Committee. 175th anniversary of the Chamber of Deputies and first Constitution
The design features the effigy of Grand Duke Henri on the left and the Chamber of Deputies building on the right. Above the building is the year "1848", and to the right the text "Chambre des députés". At the bottom, in the center, the name of the issuing country “LUXEMBOURG” and the year of issue “2023” can be read.
25th anniversary of the admission of Grand Duke Henri as a member of the International Olympic Committee
The motif on the coin is the effigy of Grand Duke Henri looking to the right and towards the number "25". Next to his effigy various pictograms of Olympic disciplines appear. Below, three intersecting circles embellish the design. At the bottom right you can read the text "MEMBER VUM INTERNATIONALEN OLYMPESCHE KOMMITEE". On the left are the name of the country 'LËTZEBUERG' and the words 'GROUSSHERZOG HENRI'.
Issuance volumes divided into three versions, identical in both currencies
UNC or Uncirculated quality: 120,000 coins for circulation (rolls and loose). This version of the coin is minted by Monnaie de Paris with its corresponding mint mark. (TBC)
BU quality: 10,000 pieces divided between 7,500 on a coincard and 2,500 on the euroset 2023, minted by the KNM of the Netherlands (I don't know if it has a mint mark)
Proof quality: 3,500 pieces divided between 1,000 within the euroset Proof 2023 and 2,500 in a special set with 2-euro commemorative coins of 2022 and 2023. These coins will be minted by the Mincovna Kremnica, of Slovakia, and are expected to have their mark mintmark or some brand that makes them different from the other two versions.
Therefore, the total issue volume of each coin, adding all its versions, is 133,500.
