In 2019 the Australian Mint, The Perth Mint Australia, purchased the license to be able to issue coins dedicated to The Simpsons, one of the most beloved television families in the world. In this pure silver coin, Bart Simpson demonstrates his talent for skateboarding. Homer and Marge's only child is depicted brilliantly practicing his skills with the Simpsons family home in Springfield in the background. The design also incorporates the signature of cartoonist Matt Groening and the 'P' mintmark of The Perth Mint.
The issue volume of the coin is 25,000 units, all encapsulated, of these 1,000 is presented in a kind of card like the one you can see above.
The obverse shows the royal effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Inscriptions include "QUEEN ELIZABETH II", "TUVALU 1 DOLLAR", "2020", as well as the weight and purity of the coin.
